Justification

1. Corporal Alejandro R. Hernandez is recommended for the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal in recognition of unparalleled performance of duty as Squad Leader, 1st Squad, 2d Platoon, Company F, 2d Battalion, 7th Marines, from 1 March 2025 to 28 February 2026.

2. During the period of recognition, Corporal Hernandez served with tireless dedication and selfless commitment to mission accomplishment. Through his initiative in reorganizing his squad's pre-combat inspection process, the squad achieved a 47% reduction in gear-deficiency findings during battalion inspections, saving an estimated 156 man-hours per quarter that had previously been spent on re-inspections and corrective action.

3. Corporal Hernandez's marksmanship coaching of seven junior Marines produced the highest mark in the regiment for first-time qualifiers during the spring qualification cycle, directly improving combat readiness and reflecting the highest standards of the Marine Corps rifleman ethos.

4. As assistant Marine of the quarter for second quarter, Fiscal Year 2026, Corporal Hernandez demonstrated mature leadership in mentoring two junior NCOs through Corporals Course preparation, both of whom subsequently graduated with distinguished honors.

5. Corporal Hernandez's professionalism, technical proficiency, and tireless devotion to duty reflected great credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.
