Personnel Check-In and Check-Out Procedures

1. Purpose

This SOP establishes standardised check-in and check-out procedures for all personnel reporting to or detaching from Headquarters Company, 2d Battalion, 7th Marines.

3. Reporting Window

All personnel reporting aboard shall present themselves to the Battalion S-1 not later than seventy-two (72) hours after the date of detachment from their previous command, in accordance with reference (a).

4. Check-In Procedures

Reporting personnel will complete the following stops in sequence:

  1. Battalion S-1 — Bldg 1284, Rm 203 — report with original orders, service record book (SRB), and CMC Form 4790/142 (In-Processing Worksheet).
  2. Company Office — Initial counseling with Company First Sergeant and assignment to platoon.
  3. Battalion S-4 — Issue of unit-distinctive equipment and CIF draw appointment.
  4. Battalion Chaplain — Welcome interview and family-readiness brief.
  5. Indoctrination Brief — Conducted by S-3 every Monday at 0800 in Bldg 1284, Rm 110. Reporting personnel are required to attend the next available iteration.

5. Check-Out Procedures

Detaching personnel will initiate check-out not later than fifteen (15) working days prior to projected detachment date and will complete the following stops:

  1. Battalion S-1 — Receipt of orders endorsement and travel claim setup.
  2. Battalion S-4 — CIF turn-in and unit-equipment recovery.
  3. Company Office — Final counseling and clearing of company-level accountability items.
  4. Battalion Adjutant — Final endorsement and detachment slip.

6. Responsibilities

The Battalion S-1 is the office of primary responsibility for execution of this SOP. Company First Sergeants are responsible for ensuring all assigned personnel comply with the timelines established herein.
